Please join us as we caravan to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green Kentucky. Our plan is to have two small groups that travel together. As many know we have a contingent within AACC that drives a bit more spirited than others. Likewise we have some that are wanting to trailer their Corvette to the Museum and back. So, two groups traveling at different average speeds is how our plan is based on. Everyone going to the Event must register through the National Corvette Museum Website at the following link. https://webservices.corvettemuseum.org/Client/Login.cfm. I am waiting to hear from the NCM Caravan captain on how best for our group to register, and will post that information here in this paragraph. There is no fee to be in the caravan, and the only fee's are for NCM, and any thing along the way.
Day 1:
We plan to leave early on the 27th of August and drive up Hot Springs Arkansas where we will spend the night. We have three planned stops along the way. I have surveyed the stops via Google Maps and all have enough room for large trailers and large parking lots. I should note that we will most likely use the Toll around Austin and San Marco’s but it didn’t show up on the Google Maps. The Travel stops will still work. The Hotel is not booked yet and is a place holder.

Day 3-5:
These days are reserved for the Nation Corvette Museum Itinerary. Everyone going to the Event must register through the National Corvette Museum Website at the following link. I am waiting on Information for these days so that I can add that to this document.
Day 6:
Day 6 we check out of our hotel in Bowling Green and have a little bit of fun. The day consists of our first stop at a Winery, for taste testing and a pit stop. But don’t have too much fun as our next leg has us driving the Tail of the Dragon backwards to our final stop of the day at a Resort on a Lake. The Resort and the Winery are not booked yet. Just place holders. We have a whole have day to explore this region. Many distilleries, and opportunities to drive the Trail of the Dragon again. I built in Hour long stops on this day to facilitate picture taking etc. This main thing to consider is this is your trip. Have fun, be safe and enjoy.

Day 7:
Day 7 starts our return to Texas. We will take a direct route via I-20 down to Vicksburg Ms where we will spend the night. There are casino’s in Vicksburg, as well as the battle Ground. A thought would be to leave early and get to Vicksburg in time to drive the battle ground. Budget three hours for an average visit to the military park. The park mostly a self-guided auto-tour experience. The Tour Road closes at 5pm. Again Hotels are not Confirmed. Just place Holders.

Day 8:
Day 8 has us traveling back to San Antonio. A very interesting thing happened as I looked for a large travel stop 140 miles from Vicksburg. It just so happens that the man that introduced me to Corvettes, My Uncle, has a Used Car Lot about 200 yards north of the Gas station at our first stop. It would be neat if we could drive though his car-lot, stop, say high and may be make a donation for him with Saint Jude. He has volunteered with the Minden Saint Jude Organization for as long as I have known him. After a brief visit we will travel back into Texas. The Current map has us going through Tyler and down to Waco on 31 where we pickup 35. I should note that we will most likely use the Toll around Austin and San Marco’s but it didn’t show up on the Google Maps. The Travel stops will still work.
